Organization of Living Things

New Plants - interactive science module showing that plants grow from seeds and the different parts of the plant and their functions. Best part is the final section of "Watch it Grow" where you can click on the plant part word and see the part pointed out on 5 different kinds of plants with an explanation of the plant part's function.

Solid Earth

Earth's Materials - quality video on weathering of rocks, other resources also of good quality to use and designed for 2nd grade
Pebbles, Sand, and Silt - interactive science module explaining and identifying these substances (can also be used as Properties of Matter lesson)

Fluid Earth

Solids, liquids, and gases - video - simple animated video clips explaining definition of each state and how they can change from one to the other. Teacher must read slides, as only audio is music (which can be turned off).
Solids, liquids, and gases - activity - first sort items into proper category, then do virtual experiments to change matter into different states
Water Cycle - simple animated video of water cycle. No audio, so you can talk through process. Interactive "quiz" at end.
Thirstin's Water Cycle - high quality animated video of water cycle. Audio explains process. Able to review sections when done.
Household water use - shows how much water is used for different household activities. Other links about water, also.
Watersense - EPA government site for kids about water. Primarily focused on water conservation.
Water facts - interesting fact about water for kids from Water Education Foundation.
Water trivia - water trivia and directions for water related experiments
Interactive water cycle - another water cycle, this one is from Discovery Education
